The final eight teams in this year's Social Development Commission (SDC) National Community Twenty20 (T20) competition will bow into action this weekend with four quarter-final games to be played over two days at Chedwin Park in St Catherine.

Among the talent to be displayed are Jamaica cricketers who turned out for the national team either in the Super50 Cup or the most recent regional four-day championship.

In the opening quarter-final encounter on Saturday, Whitehouse from Westmorland could welcome the return of West Indies vice-captain Jermaine Blackwood to their line-up as they face St James' Orange.

Whitehouse, captained by national representative Ramaal Lewis, could feature big-hitting national opener Kennar Lewis and former youth player Ziggy Levy.

Orange will be banking on Ricardo Downer and Nicholas Kerr to bring them the runs, with Anthony Mitchell expected to feature with the ball.

The second quarter-final on Saturday will feature May Pen Lions against Fairfield from Manchester.

May Pen Lions will have Odain McCatty leading their batting, with Glenroy Hutchinson expected to do damage with the ball.

Fairfield hope that Bryan Clarke contributes the runs he scored in the parish phase of the competition, along with national all-rounder Jamie Merchant who is expected to be a handful with his off-breaks.

On Sunday, quarter-finals action continues with Eastwood Park representing Kingston and St. Andrew, facing St Elizabeth's Junction/Bull Savannah. Eastwood Park have their fair share of talent on display as they will be led by national player Javelle Glenn, with left-arm seamer Shalom Parnell leading the attack with the ball.

Veteran Damion Ebanks will guide Junction/Bull Savannah, who have Lennox Simpson, Howard Powell and Andre McCarthy in their line-up.

In the second game of the doubleheader, Portland's Buff Bay will square off with Links United from St Ann.

Fresh from his century in the last game of the parish round, national batsman Tevin Gilzene will be a big wicket for Links United, who also have Amoy Campbell and Deethmar Anderson to bank on with the bat.

National fast bowler Ojay Shields is set to crank up the pace for the Links bowling unit, which includes Othniel Pennant and Gilzene.

Buff Bay are not blessed with star players, but they will be banking on Cian Jolly and Lerone Tyrell to bring the runs, with Ranjay Hill and Kerron Baugh leading their bowling charge.
