Having already captured the Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) Championship title last season, Andrew Price, president of Boys' Town (BT) Football Club, says he is confident his team will be able to challenge for the title again in 2024.

The 2023/24 KSAFA Wray & Nephew Championship season kicked off last month and despite being winless in their first two games (two draws against JDF FC and Olympic Gardens) Price has no worries about his team's ability to compete in the league.

"It is 22 games; you don't only play two games in a season. So we have 20 more games to play so I'm sure the coaching staff has been putting in the work and they'll get the job done. We started very slow last season as well and we ended up winning the Championship so I'm confident with the energy from the coaches and the players that we will be competitive this season."

Price's confidence comes from the fact that Boys' Town are fielding a relatively unchanged squad from the previous season where they finished as champions. He attributed the work being done by the coaching staff and the talent of the players as being enough to get the job done.

"The coaching staff led by Leon Hardware and Delano Campbell has been going through the preparation of the team for this season and it is basically the same team that we have from last season, with a couple youngsters being added and that they are going to be very competitive this season."

With KSAFA having changed their decision regarding their member clubs participating in the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) National Tier Two competition, Price says Boys' Town are ready to fight for qualification in the national competition.

"As an affiliate of KSAFA, we had to follow the mandates. Now that the situation has been resolved, and they are allowing KSAFA teams to participate, once it is financially feasible and there is sponsorship associated with that competition, then we'll make ourselves available," Price said.
