St Ann-based Mount Pleasant Football Academy, despite the exploits of Cavalier SC in the Concacaf Champions Cup, have been rated the top Jamaican club in the recently released Concacaf Club Ranking Index.

The Theodore Whitmore-coached Mount Pleasant climbed three places to the 98th spot in the rankings with 1,043 points and continue to make strides in the Jamaica Premier League (JPL).

Mount Pleasant sit atop the JPL points standing with 46 points, two above Cavalier, who maintained their position at 104th in the rankings, despite bowing out of the Champions Cup after a 6-0 aggregate loss to the Major League Soccer's Cincinnati FC, based in the United States of America (USA).

Arnett Gardens, who are currently fifth in the JPL standings, had an improved ranking, as they jumped three spots to be in 113th position, with 1,025 points.

Portmore United maintained their 119th-place position; however, archrivals Waterhouse FC fell three places to be ranked at 120th. The Lenworth Hyde-coached Dunbeholden FC have 1,002 points and remain in 131st place, eight places better than Tivoli Gardens, who are on 993 points.

Former JPL champions Harbour View saw their dip in form reflected in the index, as they slipped five places to 146th. Humble Lion are two places behind the Stars of the East, with Montego Bay United (160th), Molynes United (162nd), Vere United (164th), Treasure Beach FC (174th) and Lime Hall Academy (175th) being the other Jamaican clubs on the rankings.

The index has Mexico's CF Monterrey as the highest ranked with 1,250 points and their counterparts in the country, Club America, second and Tigres UANL third, with Belize's International at 185th being the lowest.

Reggae Boy Andre Blake and his Philadelphia Union are the top USA club in fourth place, while Haiti's Voillete AC, in 69th position, are the top Caribbean club in the rankings.
