Reggae Girl Tiffany Cameron says she is confident in the future of the Reggae Girlz after seeing the talent on display from the young players in the national programme.

Cameron was a member of the World Cup squad who had withdrawn their services from the national programme following continued disputes with the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF).

Now with the full contingent available for selection, Cameron is excited about her return to the squad ahead of the upcoming fixtures against Brazil.

In their absence, interim head coach Xavier Gilbert had given a number of young players their first call-ups to the senior squad. Cameron said she was impressed with the talent on this display from the youngsters and felt there are promising signs for the future of the national team.

"I was impressed by some of the young talent that we have recently seen represent Jamaica on the senior level," she said."It was evident that they gave their best and were honoured to represent Jamaica. It's important that we continue to develop all players in our pool so that there is a more competitive environment and more players are able to compete at a high level."

The young players, including the likes of former Excelsior High standouts Shaneil Buckley, Davia Richards and Destiny Powell, competed in the Concacaf Women's Gold Cup qualifiers, placing third in their group with three draws and a loss.

Buckley and Richards also scored their first senior international goals against Panama and Guatemala, respectively.

Richards has retained her place in the senior squad, having been given the nod for the double fixtures against Brazil.

Cameron said the upcoming games will be important for the Reggae Girlz, as a good display against the South American giants would be significant for Jamaica.

"I'm excited to be back in national colours again and I'm looking forward to a challenging matchup against Brazil. It's important for us to stay defensively disciplined and choose the right moments to threaten Brazil's backline," Cameron said.

Jamaica will play Brazil twice in two international friendlies, with the first being played on June 1 at Arena Pernambuco stadium, while the second fixture is set for June 4 at the Fonte Nova Arena.
