Close Reggae-6 by watching Beautiful Moon

SATURDAY's Reggae 6 starts with a single-winning ticket bonus of $5.26 million, up for grabs after three outsiders, led by journeyman jockey Paul Francis's two-timer, drove daggers into punters' bets.

The usual four-furlong straight raffle of $180,000 claimers has been placed as a 'water hurdle' for the Reggae 6 opener. Inconsistent runners, any of SCHLESINGER, HEEZALION, BOSS IZZY or BEAUTIFUL BRAN can win this blink sprint, depending on who reports soundest.

UNRULY DUDE, stepping down in class from $1 million claiming to a $750,000 tag, should do the trick in the second at five and a half furlongs. The five-year-old won his last race at the distance in December, closing fast to nail TRADITIONAL LADY and WHISKY in 1:07.3.

Steadily prepared by Oral Hayden, UNRULY DUDE's even fourth-place finish behind out-of-class RANI BANGALA on last should be sufficient for him to repeat at the trip on a lower tag.

Take no chances with the third in which SUGAR SUGAR, GLITTERING STAR and SIMPLY SENSATIONAL have shown decent recent form, leaving soundness to determine the winner.

Having clocked 1:14.1 when beating $550,000 claimers by 19 lengths in May, WILSON returning to Patrick Taylor's barn, after being 'claimed' by Greg Fennell, suggests home is where the heart is, pointing to another romp in the fourth on the same tag and distance.

If the first is a raffle, the fifth, for older maidens, is a nine-horse grab-bag. It makes no sense reading form for horses set to turn five in a few months without a win to their credit.

Close the Reggae 6 by banking BEAUTIFUL MOON, who closed fast for second behind EQUINOX at five furlongs straight on August 10. EQUINOX won in a decent 1:00.2, beating BEAUTIFUL MOON by almost five lengths, a runner-up time of 1:01.2.
