Bank on Beautiful Bran for winning start

START Saturday's Reggae 6 by banking speedy BEAUTIFUL BRAN at three and a half furlongs in the blink sprint for older $180,000 claimers.

However, take no chances with the second event, Race 1 in Series 2 of the BGLC-TOBA Millionaires Series. A quartet of foreigners - three Canadians and American UNSPUN - debut against three local-bred two-year-olds at four furlongs straight, creating a potential minefield for Reggae 6 bettors.

The fourth could be tricky with GOD OF LOVE being a tempting banker at five furlongs round. Despite his back class, the ageing warrior should not be used as a nap, coming off a lay-up with near topweight against familiar rivals.

Add some insurance to GOD OF LOVE by using KP CHOICE and POWER RANKING as back-up, considering they had both finished close to him in previous races and can take advantage of any ring rust he might display.

Down-in-class SECRET TRAVELLER can be trusted among $400,000 claimers at six furlongs in the fifth, sitting too close at the scale to settlers in the grade.

With the Reggae 6 single-winner jackpot starting at $5.3 million, close strongly in the sixth, non-winners of three races at five furlongs straight. Any of SUPERIO, LADY ABHIMALA, ARIA'S REIGN, GOLDEN SYRUP, UNCLE NUB or GREY COMMANDER could spring a coup.
