Been there, done that - Cavalier defender Jeovanni Laing under no pressure against Moca

With successive qualification to the Concacaf Champions Cup on the line, Cavalier defender Jeovanni Laing said he feels no pressure ahead of their Concacaf Caribbean Cup semi-final second-leg match against Moca FC at the National Stadium today.

Cavalier played out a scoreless draw in the first leg last Thursday in the Dominican Republic and will have all to play for when they host Moca on home turf.

Laing, who had played in last season's Champions Cup for the reigning Jamaican champions, said he is under no pressure as he knows what it takes to book their spot in the Champions Cup as well as the Caribbean Cup final.

"There is no pressure to this game," Laing insisted in his pre-match interview. "It is important to us so I'm fully prepared. I've been here before so we know what is at stake and we'll go out there and put out a good show and have our best performance."

Cavalier head coach Rudolph Speid said his team enters the fixture disadvantaged due to the away goal rule still being used by the Champions Cup competition.

Having failed to score in their away fixture against Moca, Cavalier will be wary of conceding as it will put added pressure on their chances of advancing to the final.

"I don't think it's an advantage for us because the away goal rule is in effect and we didn't score one goal away so if they score one, we'll have to score two so I'm not really pleased and we don't have an advantage at this point," he explained.

However, Laing is confident Cavalier's defence is up to the task to secure another clean sheet against their Dominican Republic-based opponents.

He said once the defenders are able to do their job, then the onus will be on the attackers to seal the win at the other end of the field.

"The biggest challenge for us, and for me in the defence is to keep another clean sheet," he said. "As the coach said, if they score one then we'll have to score two.

"I think defensive wise, we put on a good show last week because we had kept a clean sheet so if we put on another show like that then I'm confident my attackers can get the goal."

The match is slated to kick off at 7 p.m. at the National Stadium.
