Kingston College (KC) and St George's College (STGC) have advanced to the final of the ISSA Burger King Under-14 urban area football competition while Excelsior High and St Andrew Technical (STATHS) will contest the ISSA Grace Mighty Malt Under-16 final following yesterday's semifinals.

The under-14 final will be a North Street derby. Neighbours STGC and KC will contest the final following wins over Wolmer's Boys and Calabar High respectively.

STGC ensured that new champions will be crowned in this season's competition as they eliminated defending champions Wolmer's 1-0 in a tightly fought contest at Calabar's school field.

Mahlik Solomon scored the deciding goal for STGC in the second half as he broke away from his markers to finish expertly past the goalkeeper.

In the other semifinal, KC dismantled rivals Calabar in a 7-0 drubbing at Winchester Park as they looked unstoppable on the day.

Four goals from Javaun Buckridge led the way for the famed purples as Kevair Tenant, Ras-Renaldiho Harriott and Khadian Monroe added their names to the scoresheet.

Devon Smith, head coach of KC, was pleased with his team's performance in front of goal as they now look to the final.

"My guys went out there and did exactly what we planned to. We did some training and we targeted our shooting and it paid off. We know the green and black are rivals for us, so we came out here and gave them no chances," he explained.

In the under-16 competition, it was a seven-goal thriller at Winchester Park as STATHS edged Wolmer's 4-3 to punch their tickets into the final.

STATHS took an early lead through a brace from Shankeno Grant but found themselves pegged back as Romie Henry and Kishawn Lewis gave the Wolmerians hope.

It was not to be, however, as goals from Kelvin Brown and Kirk King secured STATHS' qualification. Quano Reid scored a late consolation goal to spare the Wolmerian's blushes.

Excelsior were locked in a tight contest against STGC in the other semifinal and needed a late strike from Damarley Williams to get the better of their opponents, running out 1-0 winners.

The finals are set for Friday with the under-14 decider slated for 1:45 p.m. while the under-16 final will start at 3:45 p.m.
