Man stabbed to death in bed on Good Friday

A man was stabbed to death in his apartment in Montego Bay, St James early this morning.

Dead is Marcus Stewart, 47 of Sewell Avenue in Montego Bay.

According to the Constabulary Communication Network, at about 2:45 a.m., residents of the property where Stewart was staying alerted the security team after reportedly hearing a commotion.

Checks were made and Stewart was found lying in his bed with multiple stab wounds.

Detectives say a man was reportedly seen leaving Stewart’s room before his body was discovered.

He was chased by security personnel, but escaped.

The police are yet to establish a motive, or make an arrest in the incident.

Investigations are ongoing.
