Artiste in induced coma

Following a horrific car accident which saw dancehall artiste J Capri being rushed to the University Hospital for emergency surgery, the artiste has now been placed in an induced coma.

Early Monday morning, social media was abuzz with news that the artiste's white Benz had overturned in the vicinity of Barbican, St Andrew. There were also pleas for blood donation in her name.

According to a source close to the family, there was an overwhelming amount of support from fans and friends at the blood bank.

The source, who preferred to remain anonymous, went on to say that some blood donors had to be turned back because of tattoos and the presence of marijuana in their blood stream.

The Head Concussion Record (HCR) signed artiste is known for hits such as Whine and Kotch, Pull Up To My Bumpa, Reverse It and more recently, Boom and Bend Over.

Founder and owner of HCR, Tarik 'Rvssian' Johnston, also appealed to fans to continue praying for her recovery.

"My artiste unfortunately met in a car accident and is in need of everyone's prayers. God alone will help us get through this, even though she is a strong person. Thank you to everyone who has shown support ...," he posted to social media.

In the meantime, J Capri's family has discouraged the circulation of graphic images and videos relating to her accident.
