Hospital benefits from Glacia Robinson's concert

The Percy Junor Hospital was the recipient of part proceeds from the Boxing Day gospel event 'The Experience: I Rise Edition', which was held in association with Glacia Robinson Ministry and GT Sound Limited at Manchester High School.

A cheque of $250,000 was presented to CEO of the hospital Sharon Pitter by the promoter and his team.

Pitter said the money will be used to purchase equipment such as patient monitor, blood pressure machines and pulse oximetre.

Glacia Robinson said she received excellent care at the hospital while she was there as a patient.

"When we think back on how we could give back to the community, we all agreed one of the best place to give back to was Percy Junor Hospital for the reason that the hospital serves a wide community across Manchester and Clarendon, probably as far as St Elizabeth, what better way to give back to the people of this part of the country," said Geofrey Thomas of GT Sound Limited.

Thomas said his heart's desire was to give more, but that was thwarted by the poor sponsorship of the event.

Thomas said his involvement with the hospital will not stop there as they decided to adopt it. He said members from his organisation are already planning to make the hospital their Labour Day project.

"They will probably do some painting, cleaning up and as long as The Experience will be in Manchester, this hospital will be the beneficiary," he said.
