US-based dancehall artiste IPD Green is hoping that his single 'Signs of the Time' will leave a positive impact on Jamaica. Produced by Ipdgreen Records, he said the track tackles the crimes that affect the nation.

"Our women and children are affected badly by it. Even if it's a male that dies, they are also affected. A lot of thought and time was put into penning the lyrics. It wasn't the easiest song to write or record, because it's easy to get flashbacks of crimes upon hearing the lyrics," he said.

The entertainer told The STAR that, in addition to gaining new fans, he is hoping it will be an inspiration and eye opener to its listeners. "I am hoping that this song will reach the ears of everyone, including the criminals, and they will take heed. I still can't understand how the hearts of mankind can be so cruel towards each other. We are such a tiny nation, yet we are crippled by violence. I really hope that this song will make a difference," he said.

IPD, whose given name is Keith Green, was born in St Mary, but currently lives in Maryland, USA. He has shared the stage with some music heavyweights, including Jamaicans Beenie Man, Serani, Dexta Daps and Khago, British crooner of Jamaican descent Maxi Priest and American soul singer Kenny Lattimore.

"I'm setting very high standards and would like to see my name etched in the musical scribes of Jamaica. I am putting in a lot of work, so I am anticipating winning numerous Grammy Awards in the near future," he said.
