Before Shauna Chyn began her journey as a recording artiste, she was the woman responsible for launching the career of Gully Bop.

She even had her own record label, Bop Dem Records, where she was responsible for recording a number of Bop's songs.

Chyn disbanded the label when she parted ways with her former flame and client.

However, she has rebranded and has launched Bosschick Entertainment.

Chyn told THE STAR that all she wanted was to be an artiste, but in doing promotional work, she got involved in other areas of the business and decided it would work in her favour to be versed in numerous aspects.

"Yuh affi study the music and understand things like when to release a song [and] what to do in a certain type of season, and working in the different areas gave me a holistic view of the industry that I'm grateful for," she said. "I know what I'm doing as a female in the industry, and I know I have a lot more to offer and I can help others who want to pursue music. That is my ultimate intention."

Chyn said that as head of Bosschick Entertainment, she hopes to sign at least three or four artistes.

She said she wants to nurture their talents and help them get their break in the industry.

But while the latter is her long-term goal, for now, she is focused on assisting independent artistes and building her solo career.

"I've cleaned up the brand, and I'm ready to once again show people what I'm capable of. I will be the first artiste that the label will be putting out there, and I will use my career to show people that I can do this, all aspects of this," she said.
