Ten-year-old Tashae Silvera has a voice that is older than her years. The youngster from Rae Town, central Kingston, went viral on social media after her mother, Carlesha Scott, posted a video of her delivering a seamless rendition of Romain Virgo’s ‘ Leave Them’.

And while this video accorded her some fame, Silvera’s mother told THE WEEKEND STAR that her daughter has been blessed with a gift that she’s been utilising for a while now.

“She sings solo in church. She’s not a part of a group, but sometimes when they have funerals and so, they’d ask her to do a piece, and she always impress everyone,” she said.

“She normally wudda sing and mek noise round the house, so mi decide seh this time mi ago record her and send it to a friend of mine, and then she started send it out and the video start to circulate,” she said.
