The resort town of Negril was ablaze with excitement as the highly anticipated Campari Dirty Crushh party doubled as a thrilling launch party for Dream Weekend.

The Westmoreland calendar event featured a live performance from rising dancehall star Roze Don, as well as musical selection from top DJs such as Bloodline Franco, Brush 1, Heavy D Chromatic, Macky and Gemini, and Party Crushaz.

The DJs kept the vibe as they went through different genres, pulling on the hits and the usual witty commentary to elicit responses from the crowd. Roze Don was well received by his fans as he delivered his hits, such as Bakshat and Little Bit.

Robert Porter, director of Sandcastle Entertainment, the entity behind Campari Dirty Crushh, said the five-year-old event enjoyed a boost from the support of Campari and Dream Weekend for the second year running.

"Having Campari and Dream Weekend on board has really elevated our brand and opened more opportunities to us. It gives us encouragement, as it shows that we have been putting in the work for major brands such as those to align with us," Porter said.

Scott Dunn, group managing director, Dream Entertainment Ltd, explained why the team felt it important to align with an event within the western region.

"Negril is home. The promoters of Dirty Crushh and their patrons support Dream Weekend year in, year out, so it's important for us to return that support. We consider ourselves part of the community, and showing up in the community is an important part of our engagement," Dunn said.

Dream Weekend is set for August 2 to 6 in Negril.
