Stevie Face receives award for philanthropy

Reggae singer Stevie Face was recently recognised for his philanthropic work in Yallahs, St Thomas, by the Albion Seventh-day Adventist Church.

He said that he was "very surprised and humbled" when he was informed by a representative of the church that he would be getting the award.

"Over the years since I opened my businesses in the area, I have been giving back to the community, but I never anticipated that anything like this would happen," he said.

He continued, "I am grateful for this recognition, however, I would like the people to know that whatever I do for the community, I do it sincerely from my heart, for their betterment. I believe that as an artiste and entrepreneur, it is my duty to do everything that I can to unite and uplift the people within the Albion community and surrounding areas in the parish of St Thomas."

The entertainer, who was born in the parish, is known for songs such as Tell Like It Is, In The Living Years and Thank You For Loving Me. He recently joined forces with Help Jamaica Medical Mission to host a free health fair in Albion, which attracted several hundred persons from the community and other parts of St Thomas.

"Everyone who attended received treatment from the doctors and their prescriptions were filled out for free on site. I feel blessed that I was able to work with Help Jamaica Medical Mission to do something like this for the people in my parish," he said.

Stevie Face is currently enjoying much success with his new single titled Sweet Yuh. The song, which was produced by Tads Production, is on the Jamaica Count Down Top 25 Reggae Singles Chart.
