‘Top Johncrow’ takes flight
Dancehall artiste Currentzicks has started a 'Johncrow Movement', a concept that he said was inspired by his past experiences with alleged infidelity.
"After being cheated on in previous relationships, I decided to embrace the John Crow lifestyle," he said of the term in Jamaican culture often associated with polygamy.
The up-and-coming enttertainer has released a single, Top Johncrow, which is produced by Chiavi Records. Currentzicks' bold approach took centre stage at Witty's Birthday Bash, where he performed while holding a John Crow. The spectacle quickly went viral, pushing him further into the limelight and driving up his listenership.
"The response to my performances and the song has been incredible," he said. "Many people relate to the message, especially those who have experienced unfaithful partners and now embrace a polygamous outlook."
Based in Mandeville, Manchester, Currentzicks has been honing his craft for 15 years, blending dancehall and pop with a unique style.
"I would describe my music as unique, having fusions of different genres with interesting lyrics and creativity," he highlighted, adding, "As Currentzicks, I envision my music reaching new heights and breaking boundaries, establishing a strong online presence, and releasing critically acclaimed projects. I also see myself touring extensively."
Currentzicks has released songs such as Bull Ina Pen and With You, and he is currently working with Steelchest Records on new projects.
"I'm in the process of recording fresh music as a follow-up to Top Johncrow, and I'm also shooting new music videos," he revealed.
