I-Octane, Rhome Records score with ‘Money Prayer’
Burgeoning record label Rhome Records is basking in much success following the early success of its latest project, ' Money Prayer' by Billboard recording artiste I-Octane.
Aimed at manifesting financial liberation through hard work and prayer, this collaboration marks a significant milestone for both the artiste and the producer, as it represents a fusion of established sounds engineered in an innovative format that allows for encouragement and entertainment. Released on January 9, the single has already claimed its place on several charts, including in the top 10 on the US iTunes charts, as well as the reggae charts in Africa and Canada.
While Rhome Records aims to carve out a unique niche in a competitive dancehall market, I-Octane said the label's consistency influenced him to record.
"Working with up-and-coming producers has always been a part of my journey. Once the energy is good and the producer is willing to promote, I will support them. Rhome has shown my team that he is ready and able, and for that reason we are here supporting his objectives. He contacted me several times before and when it wasn't possible; he remained consistent and that's one of the main reasons we collaborated for the new year," he said.
He added that it's a blessing for him because "there isn't anything more powerful than being a part of growth".
"I encourage all up-and-coming producers to stay consistent, produce their beats, drop their songs, reach out on social media, [and] advertise their brands. Because at times, an artiste you think wouldn't record for you may hear a beat and give you the break you have been working towards. Anything is possible once you believe and inject your confidence into your purpose," he said.
Producer RhomeDaDon said that working with I-octane was an inspiring experience, especially as he got the chance to learn his recording process, receive insight on how to get his label to the international market, as well as advice on how to identify factors that align with different tracks when doing promotion.
"My expectation for this single is for it to become the go-to prayer/anthem for everyone young or old. Even though we all need money in our account, this song isn't just about money, it represents anything that you would like to accomplish or achieve through prayer and hard work," he said.
