How long have you been saved? I have been saved since March 24, 1967.

How did you get your conviction? My conviction came one Good Friday when I was invited to church and heard the preacher preaching from St Luke 23. He mentioned in his sermon that tomorrow may be too late to accept Christ. He asked if we would accept condemnation or accept paradise. I thought about it and repeated the word 'condemnation' to myself and then said that I did not want to be condemned. I raised my hand, and then took it down, and then raised it again and walked to the altar to accept Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Saviour. I have been walking with the Lord ever since.

What has been your most challenging moment? When I had to return to Jamaica after living in England for 12 years. I had to depend on my faith in God and did a lot of praying and fasting. The problem was so great. It had to do with family matters. But I trusted in Jesus and He has allowed me to keep the faith.

What has been your most miraculous moment? I got baptised with the Holy Ghost on June 6, 1967, and was then baptised in water on the 22nd. I could not have done anything on my own to help myself. Because of my belief, fasting, and prayer, God has kept me and made many ways for me.

Message to Christians: It is not easy being a Christian. When you see that the enemy is fighting and you don't want him to be victorious over you, you have to put your trust and confidence in God. You have to cast all your cares on the Lord because you cannot fight your battles by yourself. Trust God totally.

Message to non-Christians: You do not know what you are missing. When you are in sin, you know about sin; but when you leave sin and come to Jesus and compare the life of a Christian with that which you once lived in sin, you realise that the best thing to do is to stay with the Lord.

Life just starts when one gives his or her life to Jesus Christ. Start to live for God and you will see what you have been missing. When you are in Christ you will always be on the winning side.

Favourite Bible scripture: Psalm 91.

Favourite chorus: 'We shall have a grand time up in Heaven.'
