Businessman killed at restaurant
The Clarendon business community continues to bleed with another of its members being killed in Raymonds, Clarendon, yesterday.
According to the Clarendon police, 56-year-old businessman Barrington 'Barry' Heardsman was shot and killed a little after 3 p.m. while at his restaurant.
"The deceased was at his restaurant business when a lone gunman entered and opened fire, leaving him with multiple gunshot wounds in his upper body," an investigator told THE STAR.
The injured man was rushed to the nearby Lionel Town hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Heardsman, who also operates a trucking company, is the third business operators to be shot and killed in Clarendon since the start of the year following the deaths of two female restaurant operators in January.
