Man found hiding under cellar

Police on Tuesday arrested a man who was found hiding under a cellar at a house along Bryden Street, Kingston 16, where an illegal gun was allegedly recovered.

According to police reports, the police recovered a black Springfield XDM pistol with a magazine containing twenty 9 mm rounds at the premises where the man was hiding.

The identity of the man is being withheld pending further investigations.

Police said the pistol was one of two firearms seized along with 41 rounds of ammunition during a joint police/military operation in the area.

A Taurus 9 mm pistol along with a magazine containing twenty-one 9 mm ammunition was also seized.
