Video of abandoned baby being investigated

The Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA) has confirmed that it has received a video of a baby who was found in what seemed to be trash.

Communications manager Rochelle Dixon said that the video was received last Saturday, and the agency is making checks to ascertain when and where the video was done.

"We are checking with the police and the hospital for any leads. We got a call that a baby was taken to the Bustamante Hospital (for Children), but we are not sure if it is the baby in the video as yet," she said.

She said that officers have been dispatched to get information from the hospital and she is expecting an update soon.

She also indicated that the CPFSA is doing multiple investigations to ensure that if the video is new, the baby is found and is taken care of.

"We don't know which community it was. We are doing a lot of investigations at the same time because we are talking with the hospitals and with the police to try and get some information," she said.
