Mosquitoes invade courtroom

March 29, 2019

An invasion of mosquitoes caused a session to be halted at the St Catherine Parish Court last Thursday.

THE WEEKEND STAR understands that at approximately 10:30 a.m., persons inside the courtroom began to fidget, while others tried to slap the pesky insects.

The Presiding Judge Tara Reid-Carr then ordered that court be adjourned and moved to another room.

After the persons left the room, an attendant used insect spray to get rid of the mosquitoes.

"It is the first time in all my years that I have ever seen the court stopped by mosquitoes. However, the health of all takes precedence, so I see it as a necessary action," said attorney-at-law Andrew Graham.
