Two-headed turtle found

A rare and endangered two-headed turtle with four front legs has left experts mystified.

The African spurred specimen, known as Centrochelys sulcate in Latin, is predicted to live a long, healthy life despite a CT scan revealing one set of internal organs and a double head.

It is listed as endangered on the International Union for Conservation of Nature's Red List of Threatened Species.

Nicknamed Sorte, or 'Luck' in Portuguese, it was hatched on August 1 to a breeder called Ruben van Schoor in Putten, Holland.

Veterinarian and reptile expert Sandra Vink from AniCura vets told Newsflash: "It's the first one in the Netherlands as far as we know. It is very rare, especially with this specific kind of tortoise.

"As far as the owner knows, it's the first one in the world. It is very uncommon.

"We've found few cases in media. Usually they do not have long to live.

"Often the animals have a complete second organ system, also with two hearts, and they are very sensitive to diseases.

"It has a good chance of surviving because it looks like it has one heart, one gastrointestinal tract.

"This means it's actually one animal with two heads. If it would have been a Siamese twin, it would have a bigger chance of getting sick and if one of the parts would die, the other would too. This is what we have seen through the CT scan, so good news for Sorte."

She added: "It's very active and eats well. So all signs point to that she can live a long and happy live, because she is cared for very well by her owner.

"In nature, she would not survive on her own. The two heads often don't agree which way to go."

Woman wants free dog walker

A woman has taken to social media to search for a "non-weirdo" to help walk her dogs for free.

She wants to cut her walk time in half so she can enjoy more time to herself instead of taking out her three mutts in the early morning as she cannot control them all on her own.

In her advert, she said: "Sunrise dog walking buddy sought."

"As per title, I have lots of tiny dogs. I need a bit of walking assistance tomorrow morning as my usual Sunday buddy can't make it.

You're welcome to bring your own dog but be warned, mine are loud, reactive little t****. I would need you to hold three leads.

"Please no weirdos or small dog bashing. You would need your own transport. Hopefully I can find someone to cut my walk time in half."

While some users slammed the woman for expecting somebody to give up their time to walk her dogs for free, others laughed at her request for "no weirdos".

One user said, "You want to meet weirdos? This is how you meet them," while another user added: "I wonder why her usual walking buddy 'can't make it'."

A third user said: "To be honest, I wouldn't mind walking someone's dog for free. I would like to have one join me on a hike - but not three little yappy dogs."

Teen ghost haunts bar

The landlord of a "haunted" pub was left unsettled after he watched a pint glass get pushed off a table and smash without anyone touching it.

Paranormal investigators believe it's the work of a teenage ghost.

Scott Dawson caught the "creepy" footage on his CCTV camera at the Ring O Bells pub in Kendal, Cumbria, just before 8.30 p.m. on June 29.

He claimed it isn't the first spooky incident to have taken place in the pub.

The footage shows a punter ordering two pints at the bar and placing one on a table while he takes his dog outside.

Once no one is looking, the pint glass seems to move towards the edge on its own, before startling customers as it smashes on a chair.

Scott, who became landlord of the pub in December 2021, insisted the weird scenes aren't the only "unexplained" thing to have happened in the pub, as he says numerous pints have moved on their own and the cellar has developed a reputation for being creepy.

The 43-year-old has had paranormal investigators take a look at the area, who have claimed there's a ghost of a 17-year-old boy named Edward who hangs out in the cellar because he died after drowning in a well on the property.
