The gruesome murder of two of its residents has sent shockwaves through Bendon district, Kitson Town, St Catherine.

The bodies of Ruel Fuller, 46, and Georgia Blunt, 39, were found yesterday after an alert dog led searchers to an abandoned building. Their hands and feet were bound and the bodies had what appeared to be gunshot wounds. Residents reported that the two were last seen last Saturday when they went to deliver water to a farm operated by Blunt. When they did not return home, residents mounted a search which led to the discovery of the water truck.

"Wi find di body after wi see a dog start to smell the building. When we followed the dog is two bodies that wi find, all now mi a shake," Michael Mendez said.

"Lawd Jeezas dem coulda just rob dem and gwaan? Jah know this is very sad," another resident Michelle Small said.

Blunt was considered a community builder who operated a water truck which supplied the precious commodity to several communities in the West Central St Catherine constituency.

Member of Parliament for the constituency, Dr Christopher Tufton, expressed sadness about the double murder.

"This double murder is one that greatly affected the community and it will take a concerted effort between the residents and the police to solve it," Tufton said. He said that the work on the Green Acres Police Station will be part of the way forward.

"This tragedy is one which affects the development of the community, as these people would deliver water to the areas which are adversely affected by shortage. We are sympathetic to those close to the deceased," he added.

As news spread that the bodies had been found, several residents wept openly. Blunt was described as a loving and caring individual, with a strong maternal instinct. Fuller reportedly moved to the community from another area, but residents said he will be equally missed.

"The community cannot be the same as this is pure wickedness. I can't believe that this really happening to us," Everton Daley said.
