'Go Go' shot dead while fleeing robbery
The St Catherine North police have launched an investigation into the shooting death of 42-year-old farmer, Omar Lennon otherwise called 'Go Go'.
According to police reports, Lennon had accompanied a woman to her home in Pointhill, St Catherine after a round robin, when they were pounced upon by armed men about 1:30 a.m. on Monday.
It is further reported that the woman was robbed of her Samsung cellular phone valued about $35,000 and $30,000 in cash.
It was during the robbery that Lennon attempted to making a dashing escape. He was shot several times in the process.
His body was found by a passersby later that morning.
The police were summoned and Lennon's body was taken to the Spanish Town Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The police say robbery was the motive behind the incident.
