Sisters in trouble for pot throwing fight

December 20, 2023

Presiding Judge Carlo Mason has charged two sisters to resolve their issues, as he believes they are headed on a path of destruction which could end up in homicide.

"You are sisters, you should be in the kitchen thinking about what to prepare for Christmas dinner. I think the two of you need serious counselling because I fear it may continue and one you may come before me for something more serious, one of unnu going dead," Mason expressed.

His comments were targeted at Tasaughn Gordon and Lamoy Johnson who pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Tuesday. It was shared that Gordon and Johnson had an altercation which turned physical. Gordon threw a pot of hot rice that hit Johnson on the right hand. Johnson, in retaliation, threw another pot which landed on her niece, Gordon's daughter.

"I am the bigger one but she have a bully mentality and that day me leave the yard and go to three other people for them to talk to her 'bout her behaviour and dem say dem nah talk to her. Me come back a the yard and she lick off the pot pon the fire and me just get upset and fling it pon her," Gordon told Mason.

"This is foolishness and it cannot continue. I am referring this matter to restorative justice," the parish judge said.

The women are to return to court on February 27, 2024 when they are to be sentenced.
