The St Ann police say they are probing the death of 44-year-old hospital attendant, Cameka Haley, who was reportedly found dead by her son at her home last Saturday.

It is reported that Haley, who was last seen alive on Thursday, January 25, was most recently involved in an argument at her common-law husband. He has been named as a suspect in her death.

It is unclear when exactly the argument between the two took place, but the STAR understands Haley's son discovered her lifeless body and alerted the authorities.

Upon arrival, the police found her lying on her back on the floor, dressed in a nightgown and displaying noticeable black and blue marks on her neck and spots of blood on her clothing.

On Monday, January 29, the police conducted a search for common-law husband in Higgins Land, Alexander in St Ann.

When the lawmen found the man he had reportedly jumped into a concrete water tank. It is also reported he ingested a corrosive substance.

He was rescued with the assistance of local residents and transported to St Ann's Bay Hospital, where he is currently admitted in serious but stable condition.

Following the incident, citizens from the Marley community gathered at the hospital.

Additional police reinforcements were deployed to manage the situation. The crowd was addressed and dispersed without further incident.

The investigation is ongoing, and Haley's death is still classified as undetermined, pending further inquiries.
