St Ann barber charged in $5m Christmas robbery

The police have arrested and charged Arland Pennant, a barber from Claremont, St Ann, who is implicated in the theft of over $5 million from a shop last Christmas day. 

The 43-year-old has been charged with shop breaking and larceny. 

According to the Brown's Town police, about 8:00 p.m. On December 25, 2023, the accused and several other men cut off a section of a grill and entered a shop in Top Road, Brown's Town. 

It is further reported the men stole items valued to $550,000 and a safe containing $5,021,000 in cash. 

Pennant was arrested by the Portland Police and handed over to the police in St. Ann after he was identified on the shop's CCTV System. 

He is schedule to appear before the St. Ann Parish Court on Friday, April 05.
