'Bat' charged with shooting

Robbert ‘Bat’ Russell, a 51-year-old resident of Yallahs in St Thomas has been arrested and charged after he allegedly shot and injured a man during an argument. 

Russell was charged with wounding with intent, use of a firearm to commit a felony, Possession of prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition.

According to the Morant Bay Police, about 8:45 p.m. on November 23, 2023, Russell was involved in a tussle with a man who he pointed a firearm at.

During the tussle, Russell shot the man in his left hand and abdomen. A report was made and Russell subsequently arrested.

He is scheduled to appear before the St Thomas Parish Court on Wednesday, March 6.
