St Catherine man fined for stealing petrol from employer

John Whyte, an employee of Worthy Park Estate, was fined $400,000 or eight months imprisonment after he was caught stealing petrol from a company vehicle. 

Judgment was passed when he appeared before Senior Parish Court judge Desiree Alleyne in the St Catherine Parish Court on Monday. 

It is reported that on  February 1,2024, Whyte was tracked to Heatfield District near Linstead in St Catherine where he was caught selling gallons of petrol, which was stolen from the vehicle he was assigned.

White was arrested on suspicion of larceny as a servant and charged following a question and answer session.
