Man accused of assault in jeopardy of losing job pleads for varied bail

The lawyer of 29-year-old man accused of wounding three persons with a machete over a month ago, asked senior judge for varied bail on behalf of his client in jeopardy of losing his job.

The accused, 29-year-old Rayon 'Not Nice' Bell, is answering three counts of wounding with intent following an incident on February 2, 2024. 

It is alleged that Bell armed himself with a machete and kicked opened the door to a house occupied by the three complainants in Lucky Valley in St Catherine. 

 He is said to then proceeded to reigned chops all over the complainants bodies. The severely injured complainants were subsequently taken to the Linstead Hospital where they were admitted for serious injuries.

Bell was later arrested and charged by the Bog Walk police following an investigation. 

When Bell appeared before the parish court, attorney Walter Melbourne told the court that his client's employment is being affected by his bail conditions of reporting three days weekly.

"I am asking that you varied the condition that he can report on a Friday, which would help him to survive," Melbourne said.

Senior Parish Court judge Desiree Alleyne, then granted the variation and ordered that Bell reappear April 15,2024.
