Senator Aubyn Hill, minister of industry, investment and commerce, wants micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) to put themselves in a state of readiness to benefit from the Government's plans to make the sector competitive globally.

"Jamaica's MSMEs must become known regionally and internationally as more efficient manufacturers of goods and ever-improving crafters of ingenious services that people will buy," said Hill, while addressing the recent Jamaica Business Development Corporation's (JBDC) annual 'Breakfast with the CEO' event in Kingston. He stated that Jamaica is now being seen globally as a country that is holding its own in the world of business and is poised to make additional important strides.

"Jamaica is changing for the better and the business environment is changing rapidly. We are firmly on a path to international recognition as outstanding economic managers, to add to the excellence we have achieved and are recognised for around the world," said Hill.

In giving his take on the event's theme, 'Strategic Partnerships: Facilitating Business Success', Hill spoke about the importance of collaboration in creating the enabling environment for businesses to grow and succeed.
