The Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) has advised customers that their bills this month may be estimated and might not reflect their actual electricity usage.

In a circular to customers on Friday, the company said Hurricane Beryl has impacted several areas of operation, including its ability to do actual meter readings.

"As a result, your bill for the period June to July may be estimated- so don't be puzzled if it doesn't seem to reflect your most recent usage," the company said.

It continued: "But, not to worry, your actual usage will be reflected on your next meter reading. Any over-estimation or under-estimation will therefore be taken into account for your next bill."

JPS explained that estimated bills are calculated using the average of customers' last three actual readings.
