Intruder found hiding in woman’s bedroom
A Corporate Area man reportedly threatened to shoot a complainant after he was found hiding in her bedroom.
The bizarre series of events were outlined in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Tuesday, when the accused man, Tajay Sweeney, was arraigned on housebreaking and larceny charges.
It is alleged that on June 17, the complainant securely locked her premises and left the property to conduct business. When she returned home, she heard sounds coming from her bedroom.
When she made checks, Sweeney was allegedly seen in her room and threatened the complainant saying, "Yuh wah five gunshot?"
The complainant responded, "Yuh really going shoot me in me own house?" She proceeded to raise an alarm to her neighbours. However, Sweeney was able to leave the property, taking a television with him by jumping over the property's rear perimeter wall.
He did not enter a plea when he appeared before Parish Judge Leighton Morris and was remanded in custody until October 18. Sweeney was made the subject of a fingerprint order and is to settle legal representation.
