Fashion store in Spanish Town damaged by fire

An investigation is under way into an incident that resulted in a major at the Trip Fashion store in Spanish Town, St Catherine last night.

Reports are that about 6:00 p.m., the fire was observed coming from the ground floor, which houses a storage facility.

It gutted a section of the store, which is located along Young and Morrison streets.

The fire was extinguished by the Spanish Town fire department which is yet to quantify the loss or origin of the fire.

The store employs more than 20 persons in its daily operation.

It was not revealed if the business was insured. 

Operators of the facility were tight-lipped when information was requested.
