Mason charged with violent robbery

Thirty-eight-year Gregory Anderson, a mason of Market Street, Falmouth, Trelawny, has been charged with robbery with violence following an incident in Water Square, Falmouth, on February 3.

Reports indicate that at 8:15 p.m., Anderson pushed a man to the ground before attempting to grab the man's bag. A struggle ensued during which Anderson used a knife to inflict wounds to the man's face. He then took a smartphone and $17,000 from the bag before escaping. A report was made and an investigation launched. Anderson was positively identified by the man on March 7 ; he was subsequently arrested and charged. His court date is being arranged.
