Police trying to ID man fatally shot in alleged shootout

The police are working to identify a man who was fatally shot during an alleged confrontation with law enforcement officers in Frazer's Content, St Catherine, yesterday.

According to reports, around 10:15 p.m., a joint police and military team was conducting an operation in the area. Upon reaching Frazer's Boulevard, the man was seen along the roadway and allegedly pulled a gun, pointing it at the officers.

In response, the team took evasive action and fired at the man, hitting him. He was rushed to the Spanish Town Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The Independent Commission of Investigations has launched a probe into the incident.
