Two major units of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) have launched investigations into allegations that an officer illegally recorded TikToker Rosalee while she was naked at her home and caused the video to be posted on social media.

In a statement yesterday, the JCF confirmed that both the Criminal Investigations Branch (CIB) and the Inspectorate and Professional Oversight Bureau (IPROB) are probing the incident to establish the facts.

"The JCF is committed to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and integrity. Any conduct that falls short of these standards will be addressed in accordance with established procedures. The ongoing investigation will be conducted with the utmost seriousness, and any necessary corrective action will be taken based on its findings," the JCF High Command stated in a media release.

Member of Parliament for St Andrew West, Anthony Hylton, condemned the alleged act, describing it as a cybercrime that warrants a full investigation. He noted that the video has caused "great embarrassment and severe mental distress" to Rosalee.

"It is shocking that anyone should be subjected to such degrading treatment and abuse of their human rights. If this was done by the police, as alleged, it would represent a new low in policing and should not be tolerated by the leadership of the police or society at large," Hylton stated.

Hylton, who identified Rosalee as his constituent, stressed the need for a full and transparent investigation, followed by swift action to prevent such violations from becoming normalised within law enforcement.
