JFF relationship with KSAFA improves under Shaw

Raymond Grant, general secretary of the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF), says his association's relationship with the Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) has improved significantly since the instalment of its new president,, Wayne Shaw.

The relationship between the JFF and KSAFA has been tense in the past as both parties failed to agree on a number of issues.

However, Grant said the JFF has been enjoying fruitful relationship since the Shaw took over the job from Ambassador Stewart Stephenson on January 28.

"The JFF and KSAFA relationship is at its best," said Grant. "We have been having a very cordial and spirited conference, discussions, and meetings with the leadership of KSAFA, and so I don't foresee that there will be any challenges moving forward," he said.

GOOD RELATIONSHIP

"President Wayne Shaw sat in our board meetings and so he is no stranger to the board because he sat in the meetings as KSAFA general secretary, and I think our relationship is very good," Grant said.

Grant added that Shaw's recent appointment to its financial committee is an indication of the JFF's confidence in his abilities.

"Our finance committee is one of our most powerful and critical committees," said Grant.

"I think the federation believes that he (Shaw) has a lot to deliver and so we decided to name him to our financial committee," Grant stated.

Shaw is also committed to working to develop the sport.

"It (relationship) has been good since I have taken over. At the first board meeting, which I attended as the president of KSAFA, I let it be known that I am here to serve football and to try and assist in moving the game forward," said Shaw.
