The stars and top players of the schoolboy football season will get another opportunity to showcase their skills and talents in four exhibition events slated to be played in January.

The first engagement in the series will be on January 6-7, when players with the requisite academic qualifications display for collegiate coaches from the United States of America (USA).

This will be followed by the All Manning versus All daCosta and All Scholastic Urban versus Scholastic Rural.

The series will end with an All Schools team travelling to the US for another match.

"We have some important games next month," Wellington told STAR Sports. "We start on the first weekend in January with a scholarship showcase, where we bring down approximately 30 coaches from the USA to look at our talents."

The prestigious All Manning versus All daCosta highlights the season's outstanding players from each competition and takes centre stage the following weekend.

This game will be accompanied by the All Scholastic Urban versus the All Scholastic Rural, which will also be another opportunity for overseas college coaches to scout players.

"Some 80 players will get to play inside the National Stadium and expose their talents. The All Schools team goes to Florida the next weekend," Wellington pointed out.

He said ISSA arranged the games to give outstanding players of the season who want to further themselves academically and professionally a chance to advance.

"There is a little left to be done, and we look forward to those games. This is us trying to ensure that our young student-athletes benefit long term from their involvement in the sport and that they are not just playing for fun, but making sure that whatever opportunities exist, they are prepared to take them," he said.
