Waterhouse climbed two places up the Wray and Nephew Jamaica Premier League (JPL) points standing after a resounding 4-1 win over Treasure Beach at Stadium East last night.

Two goals each from Javane Bryan and Andre Fletcher steered the Drewsland-based Waterhouse to victory, and assistant coach Damion Gordon thought it was one of their better performances this season.

"Treasure Beach really pressed us, but we did well in taking our chances. When the game was 2-1 up, Treasure Beach put us on the back foot, but we dealt with that, so I was impressed with how we came out victorious tonight," Gordon said.

Waterhouse jumped out in front after a competitive start by both teams, as they capitalised on a defensive error and cut open the Treasure Beach defence for Fletcher to slot home.

Waterhouse went further ahead when Bryan broke away and hammered a shot past Carlye Holmes in goal for Treasure Beach from a tight angle.

However, Lorenzo Lewin gave the St Elizabeth-based Treasure Beach hope when his looping effort deceived John Wilson in goal for Waterhouse and landed inside the far post.

Nevertheless, Treasure Beach's task was made more difficult after 55 minutes when captain Romario Thompson received a second yellow for a tackle just outside the area.

Bryan and Fletcher also threatened late in the match with good opportunities.

However, Fletcher added a third in the 81st minute after hard work from Bryan and a delicate flick from Nickoy Christian.

Central defender Elvis Wilson just missed a fourth goal, but his effort ricocheted off the post.

However, the Marcel Gayle-coached Waterhouse capped off a good performance when Bryan fired a low strike from the edge of the penalty area to seal the win.

Treasure Beach coach Omar 'Rambo' Wedderburn believes their poor first half and the red card diminished their chances of a victory.

"In the second half, we came out more organised. We had good shape going forward, closing down the Waterhouse team, but we got the red card, and they got the best of us. We tried our very best," he said.

Harbour View defeated Lime Hall 3-0 in the earlier match at the same venue.
