Clarendon College's goalscoring ace, Kaheim Dixon, is humbled by his first Reggae Boyz call-up after being drafted into a camp for local players as a replacement for unavailable Cavalier frontman Shaniel Thomas.

Dixon had an exceptional schoolboy football season for Clarendon, netting a season-high 38 goals, which helped them to retain the rural area daCosta Cup and the symbol of schoolboy football supremacy, the Olivier Shield.

The 19-year-old Dixon was also the top scorer at the recent CASA Youth Classic tournament in Florida, scoring six goals in four matches to capture the Golden Boot.

The wily forward, with his Reggae Boyz call-up, has vowed to work even harder.

"I am feeling happy about the selection, but I know this is the higher level. So I know I have to put in more work," he stated.

Dixon maintains that his next move will be playing professionally overseas, despite widespread interests locally.

He pointed out that the experience he is getting from training and playing with quality players more senior in rank has been invaluable, and he is trying to learn as much and as fast as he can.

"It (first training session on Wednesday) was good. There were a lot of experienced players, but I did my best, and I adapted quickly.

"It (first training) was about how to play more in the space and about on and off the ball movement, but I am here working hard and will display it (my abilities) when I can," he stated.

He added that, despite the All Schools team's failure to take home the CASA Youth Classic trophy, he was pleased to capture another Golden Boot award.

"It's a great feeling getting another top scorer. We wanted to win the competition but we didn't. But it's a great feeling to win the Golden Boot," he said.
