Edwin Allen and Kingston College (KC) becoming the respective girls and boys' champions on Saturday's final day of the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls' Athletics Championships was special for coach Jeremy Delisser.

It was another unique occasion for Delisser, being the coach of the jumps at both.

"It certainly is a special feeling to be once again a part of both the girls' and boys' champion teams," said Delisser.

Delisser, who has helped to guide Carey McLeod, Wayne Pinnock and Jaydon Hibbert at Kingston College and Ackelia Smith of Edwin Allen in the past, stated that the wins by both institutions felt different this year. McLeod, Pinnock, Hibbert and Smith were members of Jamaica's team at the World Championships last year.

"I have been a part of teams that have won the titles at the same championships, but this one is a little different, a little more special - regaining the girls' title, which we lost last year," he shared. "Kudos to both teams, the hard work and preparation have paid off."

Delisser also thanked the coaches he worked with.

"I must give mention to head coaches Leaford Grant of KC and Michael Dyke of Edwin Allen for allowing me the opportunity, along with all the other coaches.

"Special thanks must go to Usir Nuel of KC and Kedene Geddes of Edwin Allen, who I coach alongside in the jumps at both teams. If it wasn't for them, being able to coach with both programmes wouldn't be possible," said Delisser.
