The race for places in the top four of the Jamaica Football Championship (JFC) continues to heat up with five rounds of matches to go.

In the feature match of the last round on Saturday at the Llandillo Sport Complex, fifth-place Reno and fourth-place Chapelton Maroons played to a 1-1 draw to stay level on points.

Jashane Foster fired host Reno into a 17th-minute lead but Jamari Howell salvaged a point for the Maroons with a goal in added time.

The two teams are tied on 32 points with both having five more games to play.

Meanwhile, Brown's Town, who were third just a couple rounds ago, slipped three places to sixth on 30 points with four games remaining after a 4-2 defeat to Baptist Alliance who are third on 34 points.

Tamar Francis scored twice and Remailo Wilson and Stephen Campbell netted a goal each to give Baptiste the win.

Knashu Williams and Demarko Smith were the scorers for Brown's Town.

Meanwhile, runaway league leaders Racing United suffered their third defeat of the season, going down 1-0 to Petersfield on Leo Nesbeth's goal. Racing (49 points) are still nine clear at the top of the table with four games remaining on their fixture list.

Second-place Tru Juice also won 1-0 on Saturday, beating Faulkland with a Dwight McKenzie 42nd-minute strike.

St Bess United FC also kept their mathematical hopes alive after a 3-1 win over Portlanders. St Bess are 10th on the points table with 21 points and still have five matches to play

Rajay Wright bagged a brace for the St Elizabeth club, with Romario Brown netting the other. Radcliffe Palmer got Portlanders' consolation goal.

Gray's Inn and Falmouth United played to a 2-2 draw in the day's other game. Falmouth United took the lead twice through Matthew Wilson and Shaunavan McKenzie. But Kwesi Jones and Rasheed Dennis ensured a draw for Gray's Inn. Both teams are out of contention for a place in the semifinals.
