Start Reggae 6 with Unruly Boss
REGGAE-6 bettors aiming to recover from Sunday's mauling of consecutive outsiders - 11-1 shot, LIL' MAGGIE, and 17-1 stunner, GALOPIN DE VELOZ - should get Saturday's bet rolling with UNRULY BOSS at six furlongs, down in class among $400,000 claimers.
Fancied among $750,000 claimers at five and a half furlongs on October 26, after a convincing win against speedy PHOENIX RISEN at five furlongs straight 20 days earlier, UNRULY BOSS was wiped out at the start and fell back next-to-last in the 10-horse field.
The six-year-old made up ground in the stretch run to be three and a half lengths off a wall of horses including RHOSA THE WARRIOR, PRINCE MARSHALL, ALEXA'S LODGE and LOYAL ACTION, all of whom fell to 46-1 outsider EXOTIC LIGHT.
Returning among $400,000 claimers with leading rider, Raddesh Roman, UNRULY BOSS should put rivals to the sword as a firm banker to chase the Reggae 6 single-winner jackpot, which opens at $12.2 million.
Bettors should, however, tread carefully in the second event for five-year-olds and older, non-winners of four races. The five-and-a-half furlong event has many possibilities with the best advice being to press the 'all' button.
PLATINUM PRINCESS is a banker among her two-year-old peers in the third at five and a half furlongs, having chased home MISS MONEYPENNY on debut and also ran well for third behind DANKA and BEAUTIFUL SUNSET at five furlongs round when last out on October 19.
RADAM can also be used as a banker in the fourth following his second-place run behind GALOPIN DE VELOZ last Sunday, whereas KP RICH also gets the nod in the fifth at five furlongs straight.
The Reggae 6 closer is a knotty four-furlong straight blink sprint in which RIDGE LINER, LEADING LAD, SLAM DUNK, UNCLE SYL, HE STANDS ALONE, READ MY LIPS and TAPPININ all have sound shots.
