Seeking help for my mom

Dear Pastor,

I am 16. My mother is very hard working and she will do almost anything to survive. She was working as a helper. She took a day off from work and got fired even though she had called in and informed her employer. She is without a job now. Her rent is due. It's a nice dwelling and I don't want my mom going into depression so I have taken time out to seek help for her. We don't have any grocery. The cupboard and refrigerator are empty. I know she is seeking another job but things are not looking good. I am seeking your help, pastor. How best can you help my mom? I am eagerly awaiting your response.

Dear O.W.,

I get many of these types of letters. Some of them I believe and some I do not believe. I say that because many people who appeal to me for help are living much better than what they say.

You have not stated your mother's age or given a number so that we can contact her. I can only assure you of my prayers. I suggest that you give me a telephone call at my office. Better yet, ask your mother to call me. I would like to know the name of her former employer and get a little information on the character of your mother. I cannot recommend anybody I do not know anything about.
