Wife only wants sex once a week

Dear Pastor,

I am having a problem. I am a 45-year-old man, and for years I have been reading your column.

My wife is 46 years old; both of us worked hard and bought this house in which we are living. She had two children before I met and got married to her. Things were going well. I have never had any problem with her children.

But we fuss a lot these days. She is always complaining that she is tired, and I am struggling to remain faithful to her because she only wants us to have sex on Friday nights. I could get her to do anything on a Friday night, but not during the week. And to be truthful, that is not enough for me. My body needs more sex than just one night per week. When we just met, we used to make love three times for the week, and sometimes more. She has cut that down now to one night and if I try to force her, she tells me that I am an old man now so I should save my energy.

What can I do?

Dear V.M.,

Your wife should know that what she is doing is punishing you, and she should have more respect for you.

To tell you that you should save your energy because you are an old man is utter nonsense. You should let her know that making love to her can relieve stress and keep you healthy. Women who object to their men who would love to have a healthy sex life, drive those men to other women. And men who do not do their duties may cause their women to go astray.

These very women then complain that their husbands are bad and cannot be satisfied by having one woman.
