Nyla from Brick and Lace lands Major Lazer Collab

Though she is more popularly known as one half of the duo Brick and Lace, singer Nyla is getting ready to launch her solo career and has already secured a collaboration with international hit makers Major Lazer.

The song, Light It Up, was co-written by Nyla and was included on Major Lazer's latest album, Peace is the Mission, released earlier this year.

With nearly two million YouTube views already, the song has been quickly climbing the European Electronic iTunes charts reaching the top 10 in countries like the United Kingdom, Germany, Sweden, Netherlands and Finland, and according to a press release sent to THE STAR, the song trended on YouTube as #15 of their most popular videos.

The song has been doing reasonably well on the international scene and recently caught the attention of Billboard radio personality Annie Mac, who described it as one of the hottest songs in the world this year.

A new remix of the song with Nyla in collaboration with UK-based artiste Fuse ODG has now been released as the official single for Europe.

Nyla rode high on the momentum from her Light It Up single with a performance at the Major Lazer and Friends concert at Mas Camp in New Kingston, St Andrew, last night.
