Camille Davis gets baptised
If you are a fan of Jamaican roots plays, then you may know her.
Camille Davis got baptised on Wednesday morning, a day that you don't usually hear being announced as the day for baptismal service. But she was ready and would not wait a day longer.
"It's been something that I've been avoiding. I wanted to do it a couple years now and I kept putting it off. I'm young and not married yet. All these things were coming up so I was putting the thought aside. But God has been speaking to my heart and I couldn't put it off any longer. I couldn't be disobedient anymore," Davis told THE WEEKEND STAR.
The spirited actress, known for her barefaced expressions, was nothing short of bubbly as she spoke about her spiritual journey.
"Ryan Mark reached out to me and told me that the Lord is calling me, and you know it kinda brought tears to my eyes because that is what I have been feeling, I've been feeling the need to give my life to God," she said.
And Ryan Mark, the person who eventually baptised her, was not alone in his push to see Davis give her life to the Lord.
"Different people kept coming up to me and asking, 'Are you a Christian?' I felt somehow that this was God saying, stop ignoring me. It has never happened so intensely and so consistently before," she explained.
Davis, who is known for her role in plays like Ladies Of The Night and The Baby Scam, admits that the road ahead will not be a walk over, but it is a path she is willing to trod.
"It is not an easy road as we all know, but I feel at peace with the decision that I've made. It is a process. I am not perfect, but at the end of the day we have to learn to give God everything," she said.
When asked about the impact this will have on her career, Davis says she is open to whatever God wants to do.
"I was worried about that. Those were some of the questions I was asking Pastor Mark, but I will just trust God. Me just stop worry, He gave me this gift. If He wants to use my craft as ministry for Him, I am willing," Davis told THE WEEKEND STAR.
